The OOB logic is implemented in the runtime but truncation circumvented
it.

## Description
For more easily finding the details of the resolc binary releases for
the various supported platforms, the plain JSON information will be
displayed on [resolc-bin](https://github.com/paritytech/resolc-bin)'s
[GitHub Pages website](https://paritytech.github.io/resolc-bin/).
Changes:
* Whenever there is a regular or nightly release:
* The corresponding workflow files will run a script to update
resolc-bin's `index.md` file (new file) with the updated JSON.
* `index.md` will be the file GitHub Pages serves as HTML (by default it
is built with Jekyll and the Markdown is processed by kramdown, hence
the syntax seen in the script).
* Documentation updates
Thus, this will run on the next nightly release after this PR is merged.
## Resolved Issues
Closes#443
---------
Co-authored-by: xermicus <cyrill@parity.io>
Added 2 options to control expected result to `revive-runner`:
```
--verify-failure <VERIFY_FAILURE>
The expected call result of the contract execution
Possible values:
- instantiate: The contract instantiation must fail
- call: The contract execution must fail
--verify-call-gas-consumed <VERIFY_CALL_GAS_CONSUMED>
The expected amount of consumed gas by the contract execution
Fixes https://github.com/paritytech/contract-issues/issues/149
A few test cases from v2-periphery-polkadot are hitting the PVM stack
limit when the contracts are compiled using resolc version 0.5.0. The
same tests pass if the contracts are compiled with a resolc version that
includes commit:
https://github.com/paritytech/revive/commit/878ca91689b99220f7ffd40df760613b7314de86.
After a brief discussion with @xermicus, we propose to set the default
PolkaVM stack and heap size values to 128KB, since we have already
encountered tests that hit the stack size limit and, without real world
data, it is difficult to determine the optimal values.
This PR fixes a small oversight from #431: Set the debug config of the
revive-runner `Runtime` such that we get the PVM logs back. Since the
revive runner runtime is mainly meant for debugging, I further decided
to enable unlimited contract sizes and disable [EIP
3607](https://eips.ethereum.org/EIPS/eip-3607) too.
This tests the marketplace contracts to compile fine. In prior versions
this fails to compile, hitting the solc "Stack too deep" error.
- Emit the `call_evm` and `delegate_call_evm` syscalls for contract
calls.
- The call gas is no longer ignored.
deployed to Kusama and is supposed the first one on Polkadot.
Closes#416.
Workflows using x86_64-apple-darwin target with a `macos-13` runner
image have been migrated to `macos-15-intel` due to deprecation (see
#416), and `macos-14` images have been migrated to `macos-15`.
Cloning of emsdk has been accidentally removed, that caused inability to
build LLVM release with current main.
The change adds this cloning back before emsdk script is sourced.
This change is essential first step to unblock gracefully enable LLVM 21
in revive compiler as current action blindly fetched latest LLVM binary
from the list of releases on our page.
The change queries release version from the submodule and uses it. Next
step: build LLVM 21 release binary
Next next step: switch revive compile to LLVM 21 after all issues are
fixed
The `Cargo.lock` kept changing locally on all my hosts. Not sure why
exactly - maybe it got forgotten in a recent PR. I took it as an
opportunity to quickly update the Rust dependencies.
LLVM is now a submodule and no longer in `.gitignore`. Thus, some dev
tools I use, like `rg` and `fd`, now consider the `llvm/` directory.
This PR fixes that by adding `llvm/` to the `.ignore` file.
- Fixes multiple bugs in the Yul test util helpers.
- The simple Yul builder utility helper now returns the contract builds.
These compiler outputs are irrelevant for the `resolc` compilation
pipeline. It can also break the compilation pipeline. For example, solc
may reject the code without via-ir or fail during the EVM codegen phase
with stack too deep errors - which is not relevant to us.
Ran into this today, my env was set and pointing to an old version
so it's a breaking change, but I think we are better off not hardcoding
the env here, the user can do whatever they want when they invoke
compile
Note:
- The unstable interface in `v2509.0.0` of `polkadot-sdk` is required.
- The differential test fails against EVM in `v2509.0.0` of
`polkadot-sdk`.
instruction for 256-bit integer division.
### Description
Fixes output selection issues for `Foundry` usage.
- pruning to look at per file settings
- source to include `ast`
### Note
`Selection.files` field is reintroduced because that's the way `foundry`
functions. it uses per-file output selection
definition into the same `LLVM` module.
- Disambiguate via unique function symbols based its location (runtime
or deploy code).
- Use `LinkOnceODR` linkage for compiler builtin helpers.
